Oleg Belozerov and Andrey Vorobyov discuss projects for development of railways in Moscow region
Oleg Belozerov, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of Russian Railways, and Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region, have held a joint meeting to discuss the development of the Central Transport Hub in the Moscow Region.
During the meeting, the Moscow Region government and Russian Railways signed a cooperation agreement on the development of transport infrastructure.
“It has become a good tradition for us to meet during the run-up to the New Year and take stock. This year is unusual. Together we have coped with a very difficult task: transporting passengers while taking into account special safety requirements,” said Oleg Belozerov.
The head of Russian Railways also recalled that the development of the Central Transport Hub is one of the key elements in the Company’s investment programme.
“I’m talking about the construction of infrastructure for the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) and passenger traffic in the Moscow Region. All the emerging issues are being resolved and the necessary permits are issued promptly,” said Oleg Belozerov.
The MCD is a system of city train services on existing commuter rail lines in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
